The Skiing
Courchevel is renowned for being the gateway to the 3 Valleys, undoubtedly the best skiing area in the world. The 3 Valleys are truly a skiers paradise with more than 200 ski lifts servicing over 600km of immaculately groomed pistes!
Courchevel's state of the art lift system is envied throughout the world for its impressive network and efficient service where queuing is a thing of the past. The ski runs are long and varied with the greatest distance of 7.7km from La Saulire to Le Praz over a vertical drop of 1438m.
Great snow and amazing skiing is virtually guaranteed throughout the season in Courchevel. Most of it's slopes are north facing and hold the snow much longer than it's counterparts in addition to an astounding 563 snow cannons giving the largest infrastructure of snow making in France!
The skiing is exceptional over the 3 valleys and caters to all levels of skier…beginners can find mile upon mile of manicured pistes including the Pralong and Bellecote pistes, some of the most beginner friendly in the world! Intermediate skiers can improve their skills utilizing the incredible 89 blue and 116 red runs available across the three valley skiing region.
Advanced skiers have access to 37 black runs providing challenging terrain from the moguls of Suisse to the long blacks of Jockeys and Jean Blanc. Extreme skiers can pit their wits against the Couloirs de la Saulire, three descents that are the steepest and trickiest black runs in Europe.
Snowboarders are also well catered for with a first class snowboard park in Courchevel 1850, including a half-pipe. Endless opportunities abound for off-piste riding and carving through fresh powder, especially magical through the many tree lined runs around the resort!!
Courchevel is internationally recognized for the superb maintenance of its slopes…each evening pistes are perfectly groomed using an incredible 39 snowcats!
The ski patrol (pisteurs) in Courchevel carefully monitor snow conditions and are able to remotely trigger avalanches prior to opening ski lifts to ensure your safety and peace of mind.
